Uma Thurman

Uma Karuna Thurman was an American actor best known for portraying 'Mia Wallace, in the dark comedy film "Pulpfiction." Her role in the film made her one of Hollywood's top stars. She's a committed actor, who doesn't mind losing her glamorous image. The deglamorized part she played in the Kill Bill movie series earned numerous accolades. Her family was unconventional, giving her an Hindu surname and raised her in a Buddhist setting. At a young age she was ridiculed because of her angular body and big feet. Although she's become well-known for her beautiful looks she was shy and self-conscious about her appearance. While in high school she found pleasure in acting and participated actively in it. When she decided that acting was her destiny after high school, she left when she was 15 and decided to focus on a professional acting career. In the beginning, she was forced to make her living through cooking and modelling, eventually finding small roles on film.
